gonna blog about FOP and today sermon..its totally blown me off..and guess what??i bought the book by mark conner,Broken spirit..carn wait to read it...man..been too brought down by D&T..gotta finish faster and then submit and i can resume my normal tuition days..jay liew is damn unhappy..lol..
FOP2009 was cool!!! true worshippers and bob fitts was awesome...mark conner was good too! oh ya...the opening video was done by heart of god church!!! (HOGC), another video was done by HOGC too!!! absolute coolness!!!!

After FOP, went to have steamboat at bugis with aby, yisheng, vic, nic tan and jerome..lol!! had it till 1.30am then went to esplanade to slack..the bought 'drinks' and i was playing some game which i donno how to call it in english with yisheng..lol!! fun fun!!!!!!!haha!!well...he experienced clubber, same trick one!!!lol...but well..i won a few!!!!
ok..first lets talk about FOP sermon. only went for first day. Mark conner talk about prisons..there are actually lots of prison in our life..and the most common one is worry.
Though there so many prison, we have to believe that Jesus is the only prison breaker!! through christ, all things are possible!!so basically...question is what are we worry about?? students like us, will be exams,major exams etc..
Worry is like a prison, the more you feel worried, the more mixed feeling u will feel which is true! like..exam..the more you worry that u will fail the more u will...so stand strong!!! In matthew 6:25-34, Jesus talk about worry. I remember Alvin prayed this to me before...true, we should just stop worry and look forward to the future, for He is Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who will provide. ask and it shall be given. =)
There are four points that can make us free from worrying!S-T-O-P
1) Specify your thoughts
basically, what mark conner practical suggestion is to take a piece of paper and draw a line down. One side of the paper will be your problems/worry and the other side, write down the prob of apostle Paul..hmm..i really admire Paul though..therefore, we cannot complain!!!!

40% on the paper is not gonna happen, 30% is already happening,12% is about health problems etc,10% is about minor stuff and 4% is about something which it can't be help...so basically, we human spend 96% worrying on something that we can don worry about!!! It so interesting to see human work!!
2) Take action on your worry
Turn your worry into a problem and fixed it!! don be like a crybaby and sit there waiting for the sky to help...we shouldnt just avoid it...rmb someone told me, that deal with it and solve it..don run away...it will come back to pester you after awhile and it might just get worst..true!
3)Offer up a prayer to God!
phil 4:6-7
there are some stuff that is really beyond our control (which is the 4%), therefore, we can only do is to seek and wait for God to do so..But before that, we need to shape our worries into prayers!
4)Place your trust in the Lord
proverbs 3:5-6
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct[a] your paths.
We have to trust! Lean not on our own understanding and to acknowlege him!! in this way, we are able to place it at the foot of the cross and proclaim it!!
Worry can be a prison in our life, but, simple, through christ, there is freedom!!
Worry tends to get focus on ourselves that we forgot about what outside is thinking, we should get immune to be worried!!!
Today sermon was awesome too!! Pastor How came up with a new series about BIGGER! so today is about Bigger thinking!!!
in Isaiah 55:8-7
For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts.
we ought to lift our thoughts to the standard of God!!
1) The next generation wants to grow bigger!!
Pastor How gave examples and true..which makes me like it and ponder over it!
Basically, the older generation should not stop the young generation from small becoming big!
one example: If we tell our parents, we want to earn more money than them, parents should say GREAT!! you are gonna be one!! but, you need to study hard, find a stable job and then u will earn alot!!
and not
son/daughter, the society is hard now, earning more than what im earning now is way to impossible, its difficult...stop all these wishful thinkings.
We need to let the younger generations explore, expand and show their creativity..and who knows? they might become some famous people out there someday and you will not regret it!
2) Before we can think big, we must feel small first!
one word, claustrophobic. is a must!
example, you need to feel that your cg is small, so, u will feel discontented and then wanna make it BIG!
3)Only when you feel that you are in a place too small, then you will Go!
If you are not going, then u are feeling too contended
Only if you feel like going, u are then able to grow, and get big!
We are the chosen generation, the royal priest hood! 1 peter 2:9
If you want to live like a king, think like a king!
If you want to have power like a king, have the heart and character of a king!
basically, is trying to say, be more like Him! love care compassion righteouness, humble!

can you imagine? King david!!! he accept the person though saul is his enemy! he show kindness. Because David and jonhnathan and him created a covenant that is before saul! that why! lol...

im just so inspire by how Pastor is able to use topic like this.. to make us grow. we tends to think that, aiya, like that ok le la...score B3 ok le la...bring 1 friend enough le..complete 20hrs study rule ok already...but, if we are so easily contended, why still bother to stay? so, ought to be discontended, then everything will change!!!!
at first i thought its some wrong sermon im listening, but well..after listening to the behind part..i caught it! i caught the heart of the sermon!! and i find it really powerful! Pastor How you rocks!!
